Why Solvr exists

Most AI homework tools will give you an answer no matter what. Few of them can tell you whether that answer is actually right — and almost none of them will tell you where your own thinking went wrong.

Solvr started from a simple frustration: STEM students don't just need an answer, they need to know if their own reasoning is sound. A calculator gives you a number. A generic AI chat gives you a confident paragraph. Neither one tells you, specifically, where your work diverged from the correct path.

So Solvr does two things most tools don't. First, it verifies — every math, physics, and chemistry answer is independently checked with real symbolic computation (SymPy) running in a sandbox, not just generated and trusted. Second, it diagnoses — Mistake Detective takes your own attempt, solves the problem independently, and compares the two step by step to find exactly where you went off track. If you didn't, it says that instead of manufacturing a correction you don't need.

That's also why Solvr stays deliberately narrow: Math, Physics, and Chemistry at launch, not a grab-bag of every subject under the sun. Those are the subjects where "verified" is a claim we can actually back up.

If your work is correct, Solvr says so — plainly, without inventing an error to seem more useful. If it's wrong, it tells you exactly where and why, not just that it's wrong.

Narrow beats generic

Solvr covers Math, Physics, and Chemistry — on purpose. Those are the subjects its verification approach actually works for, and we'd rather do three subjects honestly than eight superficially.
